Taj Fateh Prakash Palace, Udaipur

Lovely property by the lake within the city palace complex. Extremely attentive staff. Good breakfast and restaurant. Pricey by Indian standards but not by American standards. High quality amenities in the room. My massage was great

The bed was softer at the edges so mattress could use an update. Getting out of the palace complex into the street is a bit of a trek but golf carts are available.

Loved that the property itself was a sight to behold and explore already. We had access to history.Great customer service especially from Ravi and the staff who took such great care of us and our daughters who celebrated 2 birthdays during our stay at the hotel. Ravi and team made sure we all felt special.

The location is amazing in terms of the view and being close to the palace but it feels a bit secluded at times.

A sense of age

This property was simply royal and best till date . No comparison of this property with any other property as said TAJ is always the best and it stole my heart i can say. The food part specially Ramesh, Rahul, Kailash were all accomplished waiters serving with passion.

Probably they can enlighten the features of the property and show the property to the inmates atleast and explain the sailent features of the property. Though the Guide explained to us about the property but i think it lacks the real essence of the show around

There seems to be a feeling of lingering age as this was really an old castle.

Hotel location in the Palace complex with views over the lake are sensational. The hotel oozes heritage to its core. Especially loved the pool and food in the only restaurant.

I like this hotel however the hotel whilst historic must continue to evolve and improve its offer for the price. This hotel now feels dated, with tired furniture particularly in the bedrooms and outdated bathroom facilities. Money needs to be spent. Lighting in the restaurant is too bright and harsh making it cold and uninviting to eat in.

The location was outstanding, and the restaurant had the best food we found in Udaipur. I loved sitting in the window seat in our room, looking at the fabulous view. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the lawn near the lake - so tranquil after the bustle of the old city! Complimentary golf cart rides to City Palace and two palace gates to the city minimized our long hilly walks around town. We took a comfortable excursion with an expert hotel taxi driver to Monsoon Palace - up a long and winding road outside of town, where we thoroughly enjoyed the view! The hotel lake tour to Jag Mandir was also lovely.

The bathroom configuration was odd - two glass booths, one a shower and one a toilet, plus a large wooden wardrobe next to the sink, a built-in luggage rack and a dressing table - all included in a steamy bathroom environment. I like to keep my clothing away from dampness. The hallway smelled moldy and was obviously not as luxurious as the wings housing suites. On our first night and second night, the air in our room was heavily laced with incense/perfume, and the windows were sealed shut. At first the smell was pleasant, but not so in the middle of the night.

Beautiful property, clean, well maintained, warm and welcoming staff, exceptional service - from the moment you’re at the entrance of the hotel to the moment you’re leaving.Big shout out to the staff (Preety in particular, for trying her best to accommodate our food requirements) - they really made our stay feel worth it.

I was very disappointed that there was no effective shading around the pool area - sun beds were provided (toweling was not excellent) but there were no shade umbrellas or other effective shading - this resulted in us not being able to enjoy the pool area - in addition, water was not offered or other drinks - there is a massive opportunity to provide a better service here

The property is undoubtedly magnificent and the experience was wonderful, but what really sets it apart is it's people. The extremely hospitable staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience. And a special shoutout to Mr. Sandeep Dwivedi. I was travelling with my parents and it amazed me how he had this unique ability to anticipate all our needs, said or unsaid, making this one of the most memorable experiences.

The location of this property is great, right in the heart of the Palace. The sunset looks beautiful

The photos on booking.com are not what the actual room looks like. They have over 50 rooms and all of them are different. I book the luxury suit with sit-out but to my surprise the room that I got was half the size on what it looked on the photos, and the sit-out was shared between 3 other rooms. It was really disappointing to see that. Once we raised this issue, we were upgraded to a better class of a room, which was without no lake view. We finally got our room at 4pm, which spoiled our day. To compensate, they gave us a late check-out 1 hr later.

The pool was delightful but the service for drinks was poor. Took 30 minutes to get a warm and overpriced wine

Shabby and shoddy. Toilet paper is worse than hospital toilet paper. Lack of communication amongst staff and guests - if you’re an international who speaks English

The location of the hotel is really good. With an exceptional view of the pichola lake and the lake palace, the rooms were extremely comfortable. The staff was very kind and helpful and catered to our every need.

We could have benefited with some more information about the services and activities at and around the hotel. For example we did not know about the possibility of having a golf cart drive us to and from the main gate of the premises till after a few days. We also found out that there was a possibility to get a tour of the entire palace from within the hotel but it was too late. More information either during check-in or information cards in the room would have been really good to have.

The hotel is truly beautiful, with amazing views of the lake. Our suites were spacious and very luxurious.. A wonderfully decadent stay.

Whilst the food at the restaurant was excellent, as was the location overlooking the lake, the decor and the lighting just didn't fit with the rest of the hotel. The lights were so bright in the evening that you struggled to see the lake and it completely lacked atmosphere. Due to this, we ended up heading out to dinner at the next door hotel on a couple of nights. A few dimmer switches would certainly help the situation!

Our second room was lovely - lake view and sit out as booked Hotel linked to lake Palace so easy trip over for dinner there which was lovely Easy walk to Palace and lovely gardens

We arrived and room booked wasn’t available and room given offered no lake view - I was very disappointed but manager came to our room and very quickly offered a free evening meal and a move to a better room for the remaining 2 nights satisfied customer!!Restaurant has its limitations
